OtaKai Rules and Guidelines
GENERAL OTAKAI DECORUM:

  1. Please participate. We encourage everyone to post and be an active member of the community.
  2. Respect ALL members of the board. If there are disputes or arguments:

    • Agree to disagree.
    • Settle the argument via PM or by other means outside the board.

  3. Take responsibility for your own words or posts.
  4. Ignore the "trolls" or members who aim to disrupt the peace and order of the community.
  5. Don't say anything online that you wouldn't say in person.
  6. Please post in English as much as possible to give consideration to our international members who cannot understand Tagalog.
    Minimal use of tagalog in posts can be tolerated.


BOARD RULES AND GUIDELINES:

  1. Multiple board accounts are NOT allowed. One person must have ONLY one unique name in the board.
  2. Absolutely NO promotion of illegal and pirated products/sites/activities. Do not ask or post links to pirated stuff or sites.
  3. Stay on topic as much as possible. If needed, you can start your own thread as long as there is none existing.
  4. Trolling and flame-baiting are strictly prohibited. Avoid replying to posts which are considered as flamebait or will cause a ruckus.
  5. Political, religious and gruesome crime topics are strongly discouraged.
  6. Always use thumbnails when posting pictures. Please give consideration to members who have a slow internet connection.
  7. Hot-linking of images is not allowed in the forums, please use image-hosting sites like "www.imageshack.us" or "photobucket.com" to host pictures you want to post. Alternatively, reference links to the images can also be posted instead.
  8. Avoid posting "spoilers" like game endings, anime or movie twists, etc. Use "spoiler tags" on your posts if you cannot help yourself from posting the spoiler.
  9. Post viewer ratings when applicable. Example, place "Not Safe for Work" warnings for adult or graphic content.
  10. Explicit pornography is not allowed in this board. We must be mindful that there are under-aged members also viewing your posts.

    • If you must post a picture with some nudity, use a link instead.
    • Include viewer warnings like "18+ only" or "NSFW Warning" (Not-Safe-For-Work).

  11. Swearing is prohibited especially if it is used against a fellow board member.
  12. Avoid making "generalized topics" (includes "generalized toylines") that are too broad or diverse for discussion. Example: "Sports Thread", "Movie Thread", "TV shows thread", "MaxFactory Figures", etc.
  13. When posting at the Toy Section (Otakai Central) please follow the standard format below for the thread titles:

    • standard template : place the toy maker inside the brackets "[ ]".
      main thread title: ["Maker"] "Scale - if applicable" "Toy Name"
      sub title: "Series"
    • example:
      main thread title: [Max Factory] 1/6th Mai Shiranui
      subtitle: King of Fighters

  14. When posting product news or scoops, please state the source as much as possible.
  15. Please avoid posting SPAM.The list below are considered (but not limited to) spam.

    • Posts that consist of only one word.
    • Posts that contain only emoticon/s or symbols.
    • Off-topic posts.
    • Troll posts or flame-baits.
    • Duplicate posts or topic threads.
    • Consecutive posts on the same thread and on the same day.
    • Repeated and blatant advertising in posts. Does not apply to hobby shop owners group.
    • Necro posting, also known as reviving old threads with out a significant reason.
    • Observed blatant consecutive posts on multiple threads for the sake of increasing one's post count.

  16. Selling of toys and items are strictly confined in the "Emporium section"...Posts that constitute selling of toys/items outside the Emporium section will be "moderated" and a "warning" given to the violator...If you want to offer a toy/item to another member, please use PM, online messenger service or SMS (text)...
  17. Avoid posting in "ALL-CAPS", this is considered as "SHOUTING" and rude.
  18. Avoid posting in large fonts, hard-to-read font colors (unless its a plot spoiler) or striking font colors like red (unless you're a moderator)...
  19. Please post coherently using proper grammar and readable text. Avoid SMS lingo, text speak, l33t text and the like...


SIGNATURE AND AVATAR RULES:

  1. The total combined file sizes of both your avatar and sig must total to 200KB or less. (Signatures with a size of 140kb can be combined with an avatar with a size of 60kb and below (vice-versa). Anything above will be considered off limits and will be removed by board moderators.)
  2. The MAXIMUM dimensions for banner signatures must be 180 pixels high and 700 pixels wide. Avatars are limited to a 100 pixel x 100 pixel dimension. Again as stated above both mush have a combined size that does not exceed 200KB.
  3. Banner signatures must have only ONE IMAGE/PIC. No multiple pics allowed.
  4. No obscene, violent, racial, political and offensive content allowed on both avatars and sigs.
  5. Swear words are NOT allowed.



POLICY ON QUOTING

  1. Please Do NOT quote entire posts. Quote only the necessary or relevant sentence/paragraph that you want to point out.
  2. Please Take off ALL images when quoting posts with images. This is not excusable especially for non-thumbnailed pics.
  3. Please avoid quoting especially if the post your answering/replying to is on the same page as your reply. People can read.
  4. Please try to follow these quoting rules.


FORUM MODERATION AND REPRIMANDS:

  1. Respect the admin and moderating teams. They are here to keep an enjoyable and orderly community.
  2. The SC group and moderating team can lock or archive topics/content deemed inappropriate for discussion in the forum.
  3. Editing or removing a "mod warning" on your own posts will result to another "mod warning" penalized to your board account.
  4. Non-compliance of ANY stated rules above can result to a "mod warning" penalized to the board account of the rule breaker.
  5. Equivalent penalties for the mod warnings:

    • Strike 1: One warning received.

      • loss of privilege to post in the shout box.
      • restricted board access as determined by the Sakura Committee.

    • Strike 2: Two warnings received

      • loss of privilege to create new topics or polls in the entire board.
      • loss of privilege to use the reputation system.
      • restricted board access as determined by the Sakura Committee.

    • Strike 3: Three warnings received.

      • board account is locked.
      • subject to suspension or permanent ban which will be deliberated by the moderators and finalized by the Sakura Committee.
